After eight rounds of the 2024 iFLY Under 12 Division 2 season, we sat down with captains of our Under 12 program to get to know our future leaders of the club a little better. 

Ryds and Ibby are co-captains of our Under 12 Division 2 team who are currently sitting 5th on the ladder leading into round nine. Here's all you need to know about the two little champions leading the way in our junior program. 

Under 12.1's - Co Captain Ryder Aldridge 

Nickname: 'Ryds' 

Playing Number: 18

Team: Westmeadows Under 12.1's

#1. What AFL team do you support? - Collingwood Football Club

#2. Who is your favourite AFL player and why? - Jamie Elliot (Collingwood Football Club) because of his forward craft. 

#3. Name a team mate you love playing with and why? - I love playing with Ibby because of the impact he has on our games and how he smashes the packs

#4. What is your favourite playing position and why? - Centre Half Back is my favourite position because I have the license to run off.

#5. What is your favourite football experience/memory and why? - Kicking a goal with 1 minute left to win the game in Under 10's.

#1. What AFL team do you support? - Carlton Football Club

#2. Who is your favourite AFL player and why? - Adam Saad because he is fast out of the backline, explosive and my cousin. 

#3. Name a team mate you love playing with and why? - Ryder because we are both leaders, we lead from the front and encourage each other and our team.

#4. What is your favourite playing position and why? - Midfield, Ruck and Forward because I think I play my best at these positions and I also think my coaches do.

#5. What is your favourite football experience/memory and why? - Meeting my new team mates in Under 10's after coming to Westmeadows, coming 2nd in the EDFL Best and Fairest in 2022 and winning our club Best and Fairest three times.
